Sevilla come to decision on January move for Real Sociedad star

The brass at Sevilla have made the call not to launch a winter approach for Real Sociedad star Umar Sadiq.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of frontman Sadiq has proven a prominent one in the headlines at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán over the course of recent weeks.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Nigerian, out of favour under Real Sociedad boss Imanol at present, had made his way onto the watchlist of the Sevilla transfer team.

The Andalusians are known to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the attacking third with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign, with Sadiq, set to be available on loan, having been earmarked as one potential option.

As alluded to above, however, this week, García Pimienta and co. have come to the definitive decision not to launch an approach for the 27-year-old.

As per MD, this comes ‘due to his poor goalscoring record and his high salary’.
