Sevilla close to deal for Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri – The details

The transfer team at Sevilla are closing on an agreement for a 2nd January addition to the club’s midfield ranks.

The player inching towards putting pen to paper on terms in Andalusia? Hannibal Mejbri.

As confirmed by transfer expert David Ornstein, Sevilla are ‘advancing towards’ a deal to bring youngster Hannibal in on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the season.

This comes despite rival interest on the part of Everton, who have long been keen admirers of the talents boasted by the 20-year-old.

Hannibal, for his part, favours a move to La Liga, with Manchester United also understood to be more agreeable to the terms being offered up by the Sevilla brass.

As a result, an agreement between the parties is inching ever closer, with the Tunisia international looking set to join Inter Milan’s Lucien Agoumé as the 2nd loan arrival at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán this month.

Any accord between United and Sevilla is expected to feature an option to buy come the summer, for what Ornstein notes could net the former ‘a sizeable return’.

The powers that be at Old Trafford are also pushing for a buyback option to be included in the move.
