Sevilla boss García Pimienta speaks ahead of his first Gran Derbi: ‘We have to make them proud…’

Sevilla manager García Pimienta is soon set to face his first big milestone at the helm of the Andalucia outfit- El Gran Derbi.

The club take on their city rivals Real Betis at home on Sunday in what is often the most heated derby in Spanish football, and the man himself spoke recently about the fixture.

As per Relevo, Pimienta said about the home crowd ‘We have the responsibility to make them feel proud, and the obligation to compete and to go out and win this match.’

He also pointed out the fact that the fixture has a different feel from any other at the club, with more journalists present in the press room and higher stakes.

He also mentioned that possession will be key, stating that taking possession away from Betis will take them a step closer to the win.

The fitness of his players was also high on the agenda, as he assured that Isaac Romero is ready to make a return to action, after sitting out Sevilla’s last two matches.

El Gran Derbi is set to take place on Sunday at 5:30 PM (UK Time) when we will see the strong city rivalries of Seville settled for another few months.
