All associated with La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Thursday been dealt a blow.
This comes amid the understanding that the much-discussed takeover plans of Sergio Ramos at the club have fallen through at the last.
The name of defensive icon Ramos has of course dominated the headlines at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan for a number of weeks now.
After word was forthcoming that, amid the club’s ongoing struggles on the pitch, Sevilla had been made available for purchase, the Spaniard quickly moved forward with an offer.
With the backing of a consortium, Ramos and co. are understood to have reached an agreement in principle worth €444 million.
As alluded to above, however, this week, the deal appears to have fallen apart.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘A Sergio Ramos-led consortium’s proposed deal to buy Sevilla appears to have collapsed. Talks have broken down after differences emerged between the parties and sources close to the selling side consider the negotiations to be off.’
