Sergio Ramos set to make his return to El Gran Derbi after 19 years

Sergio Ramos looks set to start for Sevilla in this fiery fixture away to Real Betis for the first time since May 2005, during his first stint with the Andalusian outfit.

You have to look back to December to find a match that the defender has played less than 90 minutes in for Sevilla, which came against Atlético Astorga in the Copa del Rey.

In his side’s home fixture back in November, Ramos was left on the bench as an unused substitute, as he was dealing with a minor injury.

Sevilla will be hoping to continue their fine form in recent weeks, which sees them heading to the Estadio Benito Villamarín with three wins in their last three games.

When speaking to club media during the week, the 38-year-old defender said that, “El Gran Derbi isn’t won by looking back to the past, but rather by demonstrating what you can do“.
