Sevilla star Sergio Ramos has spoken out regarding the altogether public falling out between teammate Youssef En-Nesyri, and manager Quique on Sunday.
Ongoings on the touchline at The Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán of course found themselves front and centre in the Spanish media headlines yesterday evening.
This came after aforementioned pair En-Nesyri, and Quique, came close to a physical altercation.
En route to an eventual 2-1 defeat at the hands of Celta Vigo, frontman En-Nesyri – who bagged his side’s only goal of the day – was hooked from proceedings on the hour mark.
As much sparked a furious response on the part of the Moroccan, who resorted to kicking water bottles as he made his way to the bench.
Bemused by the actions of his goalscoring star, Sevilla boss Quique, in turn, quickly moved to confront En-Nesyri.
Not backing down, the latter then chirped back at his manager, with Luis Ocampos having ultimately been forced to step in to separate the pair.
Speaking to the media post-match, En-Nesyri was keen to play the incident down, though Quique appeared in less forgiving mood.
And, as alluded to above, on Monday, another high-profile member of Sevilla’s ranks has provided his take on the situation.
Questioned on the drama by the media, Nervionenses veteran Sergio Ramos joined teammate En-Nesyri, in assuring that there is little need for concern.
“In 20 years of career, I’ve been in the best and worst families,” Ramos began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “There is always tension. Who hasn’t fought with a father or brother? You don’t have to take it out of context. A glass of cold water will do the trick.”
