Sergio Ramos is open to a return to his former team Sevilla, according to a report from Estadio Deportivo. The club currently have five central defenders on their books, meaning Sevilla may decide against approaching Ramos about a possible return to La Liga unless a centre-back leaves this summer.
Ramos came through the Sevilla youth academy back in 2003, and after spending two seasons with the senior side, Real Madrid came calling where he became a centrepiece for the La Liga giants.
During his time at the Santiago Bernabéu, Ramos won 22 major honours, including five La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies. After leaving the club for free to join PSG in July 2021, the 37-year-old will now leave the French champions this summer when his contract expires in July.
Sevilla’s captain, Jesús Navas is a long-time friend of Ramos and the pair may have spoken about the possibility of Ramos joining the Europa League champions this summer. ED understands that Ramos’ wish is to sign for Sevilla, and he is prepared to prioritise that over money.
