Sergio Ramos apologises to Sevilla supporters

Sergio Ramos has returned to Sevilla at the age of 37. He left the club 18 years ago, when he was just 19, to start a new challenge at Real Madrid. At his official unveiling today, the Spanish defender had the following message for Sevilla supporters.

“Hello Sevillistas. Today is a very special day for me, very exciting. I’m finally coming home. I’m looking forward to that moment, to wear this shirt again and put this crest back on my chest,” said Ramos in quotes transcribed by ED.

“It has been 18 years since I left. I think I have made mistakes and I want to take this opportunity to apologise to any Sevillista who may have felt offended by gestures I may have made at the time.

“We are all in the same boat and we are all part of the same family. I’ve come to join in, to row in the same direction, and I’m looking forward to stepping foot in the Sánchez-Pizjuán and meeting you all again.

“It (return) was a debt I owed to myself, to my family, to my grandfather, to my father. I hope to see you very soon. I come here to give my all and to achieve the objectives with the team,” he concluded.
