Sergio Ramos expected to start for Real Madrid against Chelsea

Onda Cero report on Monday night that Sergio Ramos will start for Real Madrid against Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Madrid confirmed in a medical report earlier on Monday that Raphaël Varane has suffered an injury to his right abductor muscle and is now ruled out for the match in London.

Zidane hoped to hand Sergio Ramos minutes in the league match against Osasuna on Saturday but the player preferred not to risk it in order to be fit for the Champions League semi-final second leg.

The defender has not played a match since March 31, when he played the last five minutes of the match against Kosovo with the Spanish national team. After that match, he suffered an injury and tested positive coronavirus, which has kept him out for almost five weeks.

His last match for Real Madrid was on March 16 in the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Atalanta.
