Schalke are considering exercising their right to sign defender Jean-Clair Todibo on a permanent basis from Barcelona, according to Sport Bild.
The 20-year-old joined the Bundesliga side on loan in January for a fee of €1.5m. Schalke are now believed to be keen to trigger their option to buy for €25m plus €5m in add-ons.
Todibo won the club’s Player of the Month award in February after playing five times and impressing since moving from Barça. The Frenchman beat off competition from Ahmed Kutucu, Benito Raman and Bastian Oczipka to pick up the award that is voted for by the club’s fans.
