Atlético Madrid player Saúl Ñíguez has started his own movement with a group of professional footballers to help people who have been affected by COVID-19.
Together with other football stars, including Sergio Busquets, Oliver Torres and Alvaro Morata, Saúl has launched the movement “Saldremos Juntos” – we’ll come through this together. In an interview with ESPN, the Spanish international explains the idea behind the initiative. “The aim is to help PYMES (small businesses), autonomous (the self-employed) and health workers who are doing hours and hours and hours for everyone else, because they’re especially affected by this and the sooner we can get back to some sort of normality the better for everyone.”
Those who need help can register directly on the Saldremos Juntos website (www.saldremosjuntos.com), which was designed and launched in a day. Saúl’s plan is to set up a fund via donations to help – but it’s not just about economic support – the site will also provide expertise, advice, material and ideas.
