After the failed attempt with Robert Lewandowski, the Saudi Pro League has once again set its sights on FC Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Saudi government will now try to convince Franck Kessié with a mega-money offer.
In its aim to continue attracting top players from Europe’s top leagues, the country is sparing no expense when it comes to making very attractive financial offers. After completing deals for Karim Benzema, Kalidou Koulibaly, and N’Golo Kanté, and with Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy set to sign, the league is now also trying to secure the services of Kessié. The 26-year-old does, however, have a contract with Barça until June 2026.
Kessié will reportedly receive the proposal in the next few days. The former Milan man would like to stay at league champions Barça, but if the club informs him that he is not part of their plans, despite the fact that he still has three more years left on his contract, he would consider the offers that are on the table.
If he cannot stay at Barça, the midfielder would be attracted to the idea of playing in the Premier League or the Bundesliga. Although initially, he does not see himself playing in Saudi Arabia, he will evaluate the offer, without closing any doors, except the one of returning to Italy, as after spending nine years there, he would prefer to play elsewhere.
