Saudi Pro League wants Atlético Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco as next marquee signing

Clubs in Saudi Arabia have been buying players from Europe over the past few weeks, stamping their mark on world football. The next player that the league is targeting is Atlético Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco.

Carrasco has one year left on his contract with Atlético, and therefore has a real possibility of leaving. Relevo have reported the interest in Carrasco, although it is still unknown which club is after him.

Ex-Barcelona target Marcelo Brozović has just joined Rúben Neves as two flagship signings for the Saudi Arabian league. Now they want Carrasco, another high-profile player in his peak years, to add to the appeal of the league.

Carrasco has been going through somewhat of a lull at Atlético for the past two years. He is still an important player, but his impact on the team has reduced, as have his offensive numbers.

Atlético might see this as the perfect opportunity to offload a player for some serious money, a player who may leave for free next year anyway.
