Samuel Lino: “I have a contract with Atlético, but my heart is only thinking about Valencia.”

Samuel Lino joined Valencia on a loan deal from Atlético Madrid this past summer.

In an interview that appeared on Marca, the 22-year-old was asked about whether he would prefer playing for Los Colchoneros or Los Che:

“It’s a very difficult question because they are two great clubs. I am focused on the present, here at Valencia. I have a contract with Atlético, but my heart is only thinking about Valencia, about playing. We’ll think about Atlético later, I want to be focused and have a good season.”

Lino also discussed Gennaro Gattuso’s coaching style:

“The coach doesn’t praise the players much because he wants you to keep working. He talks about how we play and how we do things in the games. He is always talking and motivating us to make us better, that has helped me a lot.”

The Brazilian winger also revealed Valencia’s main objective at the moment:

“The goal is to get 40 points and then we can talk about Europe and other things. We have to get 40 points as quickly as possible and then we’ll see what we can do.”
