Villarreal striker Boulaye Dia is closer to leaving the Spanish club, as reported by AS.
The player seems to have accepted that his best option is to leave La Cerámica, although his final destination has yet to be confirmed.
The most likely option is a loan with an option to buy. Right now, the player’s options are Salernitana in Italy, Mallorca in Spain and OGC Nice in France.
The three clubs above have shown interest or made offers. Dia was one of the players Unai Emery had placed on the list of players he did not count on for 2022-23.
After not accepting the option of Italian club Salernitana a few weeks ago, the most likely possibilities are a return to France or a move to La Liga outfit Mallorca.
Dia scored five goals in La Liga last season and also provided five assists. The Senegal international also scored against Liverpool in his side’s Champions League semi-final defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s team.
He was bought by the Spanish side for €12 million last year from Stade Reims.
