Saint-Étienne head coach Claude Puel is interested in taking Hatem Ben Arfa on a free transfer from Real Valladolid this summer, according to Diario AS.
The former Newcastle United player joined the Castilian side on a six-month deal in January but has only featured twice – a total of 24 minutes – and is set for a return to Ligue 1 with his contract running out at the end of June.
Ben Arfa played under Puel at OGC Nice and it has been reported that Puel believes the 33-year-old can add goals to his side.
