Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman believes Antoine Griezmann is gaining confidence and hopes the forward’s goalscoring form continues.
Griezmann scored for the third straight game for the first time since a 6-game run with Atlético Madrid between December 2018 and January 2019 in Wednesday’s 3-0 Champions League win away to Ferencváros.
Griezmann’s form is a welcome boost amid the club’s inconsistencies domestically and Koeman showed his appreciation for the Frenchman in his post-match press conference.
“It is always a matter of the trust of a player. As I said many times, Antoine has always worked hard to improve his game and effectiveness for the team. Now the goals come and he is convinced because he has quality. I think this is important for any player. I hope he can continue with this effectiveness he’s having lately.“
Asked about Griezmann’s recent interview on Movistar with Argentine football legend Jorge Valdano, Koeman replied: “Let Valdano come every week!”
