Ronald Koeman on Antoine Griezmann’s form: “Let Valdano come every week!”

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman believes Antoine Griezmann is gaining confidence and hopes the forward’s goalscoring form continues.

Griezmann scored for the third straight game for the first time since a 6-game run with Atlético Madrid between December 2018 and January 2019 in Wednesday’s 3-0 Champions League win away to Ferencváros.

Griezmann’s form is a welcome boost amid the club’s inconsistencies domestically and Koeman showed his appreciation for the Frenchman in his post-match press conference.

“It is always a matter of the trust of a player. As I said many times, Antoine has always worked hard to improve his game and effectiveness for the team. Now the goals come and he is convinced because he has quality. I think this is important for any player. I hope he can continue with this effectiveness he’s having lately.

Asked about Griezmann’s recent interview on Movistar with Argentine football legend Jorge Valdano, Koeman replied: “Let Valdano come every week!”
