An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona star Ronald Araújo has come to the fore online late this evening.
Stopper Araújo, for his part, set alarm bells ringing across Barcelona’s fanbase a short time ago.
This came upon the Uruguayan, fresh off being afforded his 100th La Liga appearance in Blaugrana colours in the club’s meeting with Celta Vigo, being forced into a premature departure from the action.
Upon Xavi’s XI returning for the 2nd-half at Balaídos, Araújo was nowhere to be seen, with Iñigo Martínez introduced in his place.
Amid the ongoing woes at the heart of Barca’s backline, panic, in turn, has since quickly set in across the Catalan giants’ fanbase.
Such supporters will therefore no doubt be eager to learn of the early word stemming from Balaídos, regarding their star stopper’s wellbeing.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Xavi’s decision to haul Araújo off came as a ‘precaution’.
This comes with Barcelona set to turn attentions back towards matters on the continent next week, in the first-leg of their Champions League Last-16 tie with Serie A champions Napoli.
The Uruguayan’s status for his side’s trip to Naples, in turn, does not appear to be in doubt.
