Roger Martí: “Levante belong in Primera.”

Already relegated Levante ended their La Liga campaign on a high with a 4-2 away win against Rayo Vallecano. Marksman Roger Martí stressed after the game the importance to finish strong, in quotes picked up by Superdeporte.

“We knew that we were already relegated, but we decided to show our faces, show our pride and finish with two victories.”

Roger lamented the early season form but emphasized his belief in being promoted again on the first time of asking.

“It’s a shame that we started late, the early rounds hampered us a lot. We know we are in the Segunda División but Levante belong in Primera. I’m sure a lot of work will be done to return as soon as possible.”

It has been a season of few highs for Levante, but the striker became the all-time top scorer in the club’s history this campaign. When asked about his achievement, the striker remarked: “It makes me happy to make history with Levante, and that will remain forever.”
