Robert Lewandowski’s woes summed up by concerning stat after Barcelona’s Champions League loss to Shakhtar Donetsk

A concerning statistic, aptly highlighting the recent struggles being endured by Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski, has come to the fore on Tuesday evening.

This, of course, comes fresh off a disappointing night’s work all round for Barca.

Xavi Hernández’s men were back in action a short time ago, travelling to Germany for a Champions League group stage meeting with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk.

A disappointing display ultimately culminated in the Blaugrana being put to the sword by a goal to nil, owing to Danylo Sikan’s finish late in the first half.

Post-match, heavy focus has centered on the Catalans’ woes in the final third, after they managed just a solitary shot on target across the 90 minutes.

One individual singled out for heavy criticism, meanwhile, comes in the form of Lewandowski.

The Polish veteran looked far from his best once more on Tuesday, amid a stretch of form that has seen many of a Barcelona persuasion call for his sale during the January transfer window.

And, as alluded to above, late this evening, a head-turning statistic has perfectly summarised this dip in production.

As per statisticians Opta, Lewandowski’s current run of six games without a goal is his worst drought since all the way back in 2011, with Borussia Dortmund.
