Robert Lewandowski helps Barcelona to victory over Cádiz

Robert Lewandowski scored his 15th league goal of the season for Barcelona against Cádiz on Sunday night, when he finished from just inside the box on the stroke of half-time.

The Polish striker is the top scorer in La Liga this season and now has four more than Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Espanyol’s Joselu, who have both scored 11 league goals in 2022-23.

In his first season at Camp Nou, Lewandowski has already found the back of the net 24 times in his 29 games for the Catalans.

As well as his 24 goals, he has six assists this season, meaning he has 30 goal involvements for Xavi’s side since joining from Bayern Munich.

As the Blaugrana prepare for their trip to Old Trafford, where Lewandowski has never played, Xavi replaced the experienced striker with 16 minutes left on the clock against Cádiz.

Sergi Roberto had opened the scoring for the home side with a first-half strike before Lewandowski doubled the lead to keep his team eight points clear at the top of the La Liga table.
