Revealed: The extent of Kylian Mbappé’s wage cut to join Real Madrid from PSG

An insight into the massive pay cut set to be undertaken by Kylian Mbappé to make the move to Spain with Real Madrid this summer has been forthcoming on Saturday.

And, safe to say, the 25-year-old is set to leave A LOT of money on the table at Paris Saint-Germain…

As per a report from Le Parisien, Mbappé, at present, earns a sum in the region of €72 million-per-year (gross) at the Parc des Princes.

Amid the ongoing negotiations between the parties, Real Madrid have long made abundantly clear that they simply cannot afford to pay out such a sum to the France international on an annual basis.

With PSG having offered to maintain the structure of Mbappé’s wage packet as part of their most recent contract proposal, the attacker, in turn, has been forced to face up to a significant monetary sacrifice, to at long last make his Real-shaped dreams come true.

Just how significant, though, will the sacrifice be?

As revealed by the aforementioned Le Parisien, the deal currently on the table for Mbappé at the Santiago Bernabéu comes in just shy of €30 million-per-season.

Whilst Florentino Pérez and co. will attempt to make up for at least a portion of this loss by way of bonuses and a handsome signing-on fee, the fact remains that Mbappé, as a result, is in line to have his wages cut by well over 50%.

Safe to say, then, that the former Monaco standout’s La Liga switch certainly appears to be coming for all the right reasons.
