Real Sociedad player Mohamed-Ali Cho has been shortlisted for the Golden Boy 2023 award by Tuttosport. The shortlist includes the likes of Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala and Gavi for the award.
Since signing from the French side Angers last summer, Momo Cho has featured 24 times for Real Sociedad. And although his goals and assists return isn’t a standout number, scoring just twice and setting up three goals, the forward has produced some exceptional dribbling statistics.
The 19-year-old averaged 2.7 successful take-ons per 90 last term, and additionally, he recorded 4.49 progressive carries per 90, which ranks him in the top 2% among forwards across the elite leagues in Europe for both metrics, per FBref.
The winner of the 21st edition of the Golden Boy award will come from a mix of votes from the public and 50 journalists. The favourite, according to the artificial intelligence that has developed the ‘Index’ that orders the 100 best, is Musiala.
