Real Sociedad star sits out training ahead of Nice clash

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad was forced to sit out group training on Monday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Umar Sadiq as the player in question.

Frontman Sadiq for his part featured off the bench over the weekend, as Real Sociedad were held to a goalless stalemate by Real Valladolid.

The Nigerian, however, was then forced into a premature departure from La Real’s ensuing training session on Sunday.

This came owing to what is understood to be a tweak in his right hamstring. And as much proved enough to keep Sadiq out of action 24 hours on, too.

As per the aforementioned MD, the 27-year-old was not present amongst the group to have taken to the training pitch at Zubieta this afternoon.

Sadiq, in turn, is considered a serious doubt to play his part in Real Sociedad’s Europa League season opener against OGC Nice on Wednesday.
