The board at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have not yet given up hope in their pursuit of Barcelona star Héctor Fort. That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who has this weekend provided an update on the situation.
Youngster Fort is for his part fresh off seeing his Blaugrana fate all but set in stone earlier today. After Hansi Flick unveiled his first matchday squad of the new campaign, the 20-year-old was not even afforded a place in the travelling party.
Still held in high regard across Spain and beyond, Fort, in turn, is widely expected to be on the move before the summer window is out.
To date, the club most heavily tipped as a potential landing spot for the versatile full-back have been Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund. As alluded to above, though, BVB could yet see their plans foiled by one of La Liga’s leading sides…
As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:
‘Real Sociedad has not given up its interest in Héctor Fort and remains steadfast in the race, seeking the right conditions that satisfy Barcelona. Borussia Dortmund continues to bet on the player, but the negotiation has not yet reached its final phase.’
