Real Sociedad pair increasingly likely to miss out against Barcelona

Two high-profile members of the first-team setup at Real Sociedad look increasingly likely to be forced to sit out the club’s upcoming showdown with Barcelona.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in San Sebastián.

Imanol’s troops reconvened at the club’s training ground this morning, for their latest preparatory session ahead of next Monday’s trip to Barcelona.

As per MD, however, both Martín Zubimendi and Kieran Tierney, again, were absent.

The hope had been that midfielder Zubimendi and defender Tierney would have marked their respective returns to the grass by now, after sitting out against Las Palmas last weekend owing to respective fitness concerns.

Neither, however, have yet been given the green light to link up with the rest of Imanol’s squad.

Their chances of taking to the pitch at Montjuïc on Monday night are in turn beginning to look increasingly slim.

Also absent from La Real’s latest training session, meanwhile, were the trio of Igor Zubeldia, Aihen Muñoz, and Carlos Fernández.
