An update on the fitness and wellbeing of Real Sociedad players ahead of the trip to San Mamés has been provided.
As reported by Marca, Martin Zubimendi and Arsen Zakharyan have overcome the injuries that forced them to be substituted last Sunday in Malaga and will be available for the derby against Athletic this weekend.
The player from San Sebastian and the Russian participated in training on Wednesday with the rest of the Real Sociedad squad out in Zubieta. After yesterday’s recovery session, it seems that both players have shaken off the knocks that forced them off in the Copa del Rey tie against Malaga.
Zubimendi and Zakharyan’s availability is a huge boost, as La Real will be without international Take Kubo, Hamari Traoré, Sadiq Umar, André Silva and the suspended Álex Remiro. Real have a huge list of absentees ahead of the derby, but are in a much better position now that two injury doubts have fully recovered.
