Real Sociedad are interested in making a move for Memphis Depay, report Mundo Deportivo.
Real Sociedad sold Alexander Isak for a fee believed to be around €70m to Newcastle United earlier this week and are in the market for a replacement.
This morning it was reported that the Basque outfit are in the race alongside Valencia to sign Edinson Cavani. However, they may shift their attention to Depay if they cannot arrive at an agreement with the Uruguayan.
Depay was in talks with Juventus earlier this summer, but the Italian side were not willing to meet the Dutchman’s wage demands, thus opting to sign Arkadiusz Milik instead.
The 28-year-old is very unlikely to start for Barcelona and is looking for a team where he would be guaranteed more playing time before the World Cup later this year.
Real Sociedad would be interested in signing Depay on loan, as long as Barcelona are willing to cover a proportion of the player’s wages.
