Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos speaks out on his plans after Euro 2024

An update on the future of Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has been provided, when the player addressed the media earlier today.

Kroos’ deal at Madrid is set to expire in the summer and there have been numerous conflicting reports about whether the German will extend his deal at the club. The most recent reports suggest that the veteran will stay at Los Blancos and this is mainly because of manager Carlo Ancelotti also extending his stay with the club.

The Italian manager values the 34-year-old’s experience on the pitch and presence in the dressing room and is determined to keep him at the club, despite the emergence of younger talents like Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni. Kroos has impressed this season and has performed on a consistent basis even when the team has suffered from an injury crisis.

The Germany international has allegedly made it clear to his entourage that he intends to retire from professional football if he doesn’t extend his deal at the Spanish giants. However, it is likely that the La Liga leaders offer him a new one-year deal, similar to the arrangement made back in 2023.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Kroos is uncertain about his future after the Euros and is seeking clarity.

He said: “Many things are not clear about what will happen after the Euros. I don’t even have a club contract for next season yet. I would have to clarify that first.”
