Real Madrid’s Reinier continues to struggle on loan

Reinier has not been able to follow in the path of his compatriots Vinícius and Rodrygo. Three years after joining Real Madrid, the playmaker from Brasilia, currently on loan at Girona, has struggled to demonstrate his talent in any of his loan spells since making the move to Europe.

At Montilivi, like in his two seasons at Borussia Dortmund, he hasn’t been able to claim a place in the starting eleven. As reported by AS, the 21-year-old has only played 343 minutes this season and since the 2022 World Cup, he has only played 32 minutes under Míchel.

Real Madrid players go to Bundesliga

Madrid spent €30m on Reinier before he went to Dortmund to continue his development. Madrid players Dani Carvajal, Álvaro Odriozola and Jesús Vallejo have all gone on loan to Bundesliga clubs, but it wasn’t the experience Reinier was hoping it would be. He didn’t earn the trust of any of the three coaches he had at Dortmund and his time in Germany ended with a poor record of just one goal in 741 minutes.
