Real Madrid’s new manager is ‘one step away’ from being confirmed

La Liga giants Real Madrid are on the verge of closing a full agreement with their next head coach.

That’s according to Spanish football insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo, who points towards Xabi Alonso as the tactician in question.

The subject of the Santiago Bernabéu bench has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines across world football over the last 24 hours.

This comes after it was confirmed that current Real Madrid headmaster Carlo Ancelotti is all set for a departure upon the close of the campaign.

The Italian has reached a full agreement to take over as the new manager of the Brazilian national team.

And if ensuing word stemming from Spain on Tuesday is anything to go by, then Ancelotti’s successor in Spain’s capital will not be at all long in being unveiled.

As per a report from the aforementioned Matteo Moretto:

‘Xabi Alonso is one step away from reaching a full agreement with Real Madrid and will meet with Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days to inform them of his desire to move to Spain.’
