Real Madrid’s goalscoring problems – If Jude Bellingham doesn’t score, Real Madrid don’t win

As reported by AS, despite creating numerous chances in their game on Sunday evening against Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid’s chances were squandered, and the two sides shared the points in a 0-0 draw. The lack of goals has unsurprisingly aroused discussion about Madrid’s lack of goalscoring this season. With the exception of Jude Bellingham, Los Blancos have struggled in front of goal. Of course, the loss of their main man, Karim Benzema, was going to have its toll, but the levels of all the attacking players have dropped off from the previous season.

Forwards Vinicius and Rodrygo have not been able to maintain their output from last season, scoring just half the number of goals as they had at the same point last season. It is now at the point that if Bellingham doesn’t score, Madrid don’t win. Madrid are currently only the fourth-highest goalscoring team in La Liga this season, with 23 goals, with the Englishman scoring ten of those. With Joselu unable to replace Benzema’s goals, despite having a good start to the season, they may have problems in what is this year a very competitive league, with the likes of FC Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and perhaps even Girona all vying for the title.

Real Madrid currently sit in second place, two points behind Girona following this round of fixtures.
