A clear favourite has emerged, amid the efforts of La Liga giants Real Madrid to reinforce the heart of the club’s defence.
That’s according to Marca, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.
The subject of defensive reinforcements has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last 24 hours.
This comes after the personnal crisis in Carlo Ancelotti’s Real squad took another turn for the worse.
En route to a 4-0 La Liga drubbing of Osasuna, Éder Militão was stretchered off with what was later announced as a ruptured ACL.
This means that, at present, the Blancos coaching staff are unable to call on any of Militão, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Joan Martínez, or emerency cover Aurélien Tchouaméni.
After previously ruling as much out, the transfer team at the Santiago Bernabéu have in turn been left with little choice but to kickstart a search for January additions.
And, amid as much, one name has been circled in red.
As per a report from Marca:
‘The favourite is Castello Lukeba, a French international from RB Leipzig who, although he has renewed his contract with his team, the German club is selling and has placed a clause, which as happened with Dani Olmo, is negotiable.’
