Real Madrid youth prospect suffers season-ending ACL injury

An ACL injury can be a career-changing injury at any age, but can be especially impactful for those who are still in the youth systems of their respective clubs.

Real Madrid youth prospect Miguel Perales, who plays centre-back for Real Madrid’s U19s, has unfortunately torn his ACL in his side’s match against Real Valladolid U19.

This injury will almost certainly see the 18-year-old’s season come to an end, as it can take anywhere between 6-9 months to recover from an ACL injury like this.

This news comes just as Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has started to put an emphasis on giving minutes to youth stars, so Perales will have likely been starting to imagine a possible path to first-team action.

The youngster had even made an appearance in the UEFA Youth League for Real Madrid, as he played ten minutes against Stuttgart back in September.

Everyone at GSFN wishes a speedy recovery to Miguel, and we hope to see him back in action for Real Madrid’s youth teams in the near future. Hopefully this injury won’t do too much to derail the young man’s career.
