Real Madrid would allow Karim Benzema to play in the World Cup final

Karim Benzema was called up to France’s squad for the World Cup, but an injury on the 19th of November prior to the tournament kicking off meant he had to travel back to Spain in order to recover.

However, after being deemed fully fit by Real Madrid’s medical staff, the club have stated that they would not stand in the 34-year-old’s way if he wishes to rejoin the French national team, report AS.

This is only possible because Didier Deschamps chose not to call up another player following Benzema’s injury.

Nonetheless, the France coach decided not to comment on the issue when it was raised in the post-match press conference after the Morocco game:

“Pfff. I’d rather not answer you. Come on, next question.”

The Los Blancos forward has won everything he could ask for at club level, but is still missing the World Cup from his trophy cabinet.
