Real Madrid are having to react quickly to the news that Thibaut Courtois will be missing several months of football. The shot-stopper has torn his ACL and will require surgery. With La Liga starting this weekend, Los Blancos have been left scrambling in an attempt to replace their number one goalkeeper.
AS have reported that Real are considering Bono, but there are factors that have to be taken into account. The biggest factor with Bono is that between January and February of 2024, he will play in the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco. This may cause him to be absent for up to 13 official matches. It will depend on the round reached by the Atlas Lions, who are amongst the favourites to win the competition.
Sevilla are asking for a minimum of €20-€25m for their goalkeeper. In recent times, the Moroccan has received some very significant offers from Saudi Arabia. His preference however is to stay playing the highest level of football, and therefore remain in Europe.
Real will weigh up the pros and cons before making a decision, but they have to act fast and they are also attempting to replace one of the best keepers in the world, which is no easy feat.
