La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday unveiled the winner of the club’s Player of the Month prize for August.
The individual in question? Federico Valverde.
Midfielder Valverde is for his part fresh off a stellar opening to the new term.
Afforded an even more prominent role on the back of Toni Kroos’ retirement, the Uruguayan international has, as expected, responded to the call.
Excelling on both sides of the ball, Valverde has featured from the off in all five of Real Madrid’s fixtures across all competitions.
Not only that, but he has chipped in decisively in the final third, too, notching two goals and an assist to date.
With the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé having endured more hit-and-miss openings to the campaign, it should in turn come as little surprise to hear of Valverde’s excellence, on Thursday, being recognised.
