Real Madrid tie young ‘jewel’ down to new long-term contract

La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week secured the future of one of the club’s most highly-regarded young talents.

That’s according to Relevo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

The player to have agreed to the terms of a new contract at the Santiago Bernabéu comes in the form of Dani Mesonero.

Mesonero, for his part, is an 18-year-old midfielder, who first linked up with Real Madrid back in the summer of 2019, from Rayo Vallecano.

And the youngster has since gone on to secure for himself a reputation as something of a star in the making at Valdebebas.

Recent chatter pointing towards the Blancos brass making moves to lock Mesonero down for the long-term had as a result come as little surprise.

And, as alluded to above, this week, such efforts appear to have borne fruit.

As per the aforementioned Relevo:

‘Real Madrid has closed the renewal of Dani Mesonero, one of the jewels of its academy. New contract until 2028.’

The midfielder is in turn expected to make the step up to Castilla level in pre-season, before alternating between lining out for Raúl’s troops, and Real’s U19s.
