Real Madrid summer signing handed first matchday call-up

A leading member of the summer recruitment drive at La Liga giants Real Madrid will be afforded his first chance to impress in the club’s colours this weekend.

This comes amid confirmation that Yan Diomandé has been afforded a place in Los Blancos’ matchday squad to take on Schalke.

José Mourinho’s troops are primed to finish out their pre-season schedule list on Sunday evening, when they make the trip to Germany for a friendly meeting with Bundesliga outfit Schalke.

A strong squad has been called upon for the fixture, as Mourinho and co. work through their final preparations for the fast-approaching new campaign.

The panel selected includes, for the first time, the name of the aforementioned Diomandé, fresh off his first week of training after linking up with Real Madrid in a big-money move from RB Leipzig.

The 19-year-old joins the likes of Bernardo Silva, Jude Bellingham and up-and-coming goalkeeper talent Illia Yaroslavovych in the travelling party bound for the Veltins-Arena.
