The coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid have come to the decision to hand young defender Jesús Fortea a permanent place in the club’s senior setup.
That’s according to Marca, who have this week provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.
Fortea, for those not familiar with his name, is a 17-year-old defender, who generally operates at right-back.
The Spaniard has long been considered a potential star in the making behind the scenes in Madrid, with his abilities on both sides of the ball having seen Fortea emerge as a leading figure in the club’s U19 setup.
Such efforts have not gone at all unnoticed on the part of Carlo Ancelotti and his staff, who had been keeping an even closer eye on the youngster of late owing to the long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal.
As much gave rise to a recent call-up to first-team training at Valdebebas.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media this week is anything to go by, then Fortea, evidently, has already done enough to prove his talents to Real’s coaching team.
As per a report from Marca:
‘The decision is now firm: Fortea will not return to the U19 team and will become a first-team player.’
Though the youngster’s senior bow is not considered as imminent, Fortea could be afforded minutes off the bench when Lucas Vázquez requires a rest over the weeks ahead.
