A somewhat forgotten member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week suffered a fresh blow on the injury front.
The player in question? Jesús Vallejo.
Stopper Vallejo, for his part, has played the most minor of roles for Carlo Ancelott’s Real across the season to date, to the tune of just a solitary appearance.
As much came all the way back in September of last year, when it appeared as though the 28-year-old had regained at least some form of trust on the part of Los Blancos’ coaching staff.
Such faith, however, proved to be short-lived.
Even in the thick of an alarming injury crisis at the heart of Real’s backline, Vallejo could not manage to add to his tally of one season appearance in the club’s colours.
And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, no such outings will be forthcoming for the Spaniard over the months ahead, either.
Vallejo, for his part, has suffered a fresh muscular injury, which is expected to keep the defender sidelined for ‘several weeks’.
It is also noted that ‘he won’t play for Real Madrid again’, ahead of the expiration of Vallejo’s contract terms in the summer.
