Real Madrid star will miss Girona clash if booked vs Osasuna

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Real Madrid will be forced to walk the disciplinary tightrope in the club’s next outing.

The player in question? Dani Ceballos.

Former Arsenal man Ceballos has of course spent recent weeks establishing himself as something of an integral figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s engine room ranks in Madrid.

Taking full advantage of the ongoing injury problems in Los Blancos’ ranks, the 28-year-old has been afforded a string of starts, including against both Atlético Madrid last weekend, and Manchester City on Tuesday.

And to say that Ceballos has taken advantage of such outings would be putting it lightly, the Spaniard shining time and time again from his deep-lying midfield berth.

Ceballos, in turn, could well be in line for yet another start on Saturday, when Real Madrid make the trip to El Sadar for a La Liga meeting with Osasuna.

In the case of as much, though, he will need to watch his step.

Ceballos currently sits on four yellow cards across the La Liga season, meaning a further booking in Pamplona would see the Seville native pick up a one-game suspension, to be served against Girona in a week’s time.
