Real Madrid star trains separately ahead of Valencia clash

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid trained away from the rest of the club’s squad on Tuesday.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Antonio Rüdiger as the player in question.

Real Madrid are of course fresh off an altogether damaging defeat over the weekend, put to the sword by four goals to nil by arch rivals Barcelona.

And it was en route to as much that the aforementioned Rüdiger picked up a muscular problem.

Though he managed to see out the full 90 minutes, the German was spotted limping around the hour mark, signalling to the bench to make clear his discomfort.

And as much has since proven enough to force Rüdiger out of group activities at Valdebebas.

As per a report from Marca:

‘In today’s training session, Carlo Ancelotti was without Rüdiger, who is suffering from discomfort in his left leg. The German centre-back did specific work in the gym.’

It now remains to be seen whether the former Chelsea man recovers fitness in time to feature against Valencia this weekend.
