Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has taken to social media this evening, to issue a response to former teammate Isco.
This comes after the Spaniard sent a message to Kroos, regarding his plans for retirement.
It is of course common knowledge that German international Kroos’ plans beyond the summer remain up in the air, ahead of the expiration of his Real Madrid contract.
This comes as he continues to give consideration to calling time on what has long marked a legendary career.
The powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu are desperate for the club’s midfield maestro to stay put, with Kroos continuing to play a pivotal role in Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded squad.
And this is a sentiment shared by the aforementioned Isco, who, on Monday, took to his official Instagram account to plead with his ex-midfield partner in crime to prolong his playing days:
‘Toni please… don’t back down… Let us enjoy you 2 or 3 more years,’ he wrote.
And now, as alluded to above, Kroos has responded.
Whilst not exactly providing an answer, the 34-year-old did showcase his appreciation to Isco, in unveiling a photo of the pair, accompanied by a heart emoji, on Instagram:
