Real Madrid star to miss Alavés clash after hospitalisation

La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to be without the services of a member of the club’s backline in their upcoming meeting with Deportivo Alavés.

The player in question? Raúl Asencio.

Stopper Asencio was for his part not called up in midweek, as Real Madrid made the trip to Germany to lock horns with Bayern Munich.

This came owing to what was described as a bout of illness.

And an insight into the extent of the sickness being dealt with by the Spaniard has on Saturday followed.

As per a report from COPE:

‘Real Madrid’s Spanish center-back, Raúl Asencio, visited the hospital on Saturday. The aim was to determine the virus that has caused him to suffer a severe case of gastroenteritis.’

Asencio, it is understood, has lost a considerable six kilos of weight over the course of the last two weeks.

The 23-year-old, as a result, has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Alavés on Tuesday night.
