Real Madrid star Raúl Asencio is expected to be sidelined for the next two to three months, ahead of a surgical procedure now considered all but ‘imminent’.
Defender Asencio is for his part yet to take to the pitch in the colours of Real Madrid this term, after suffering a fitness setback during pre-season.
The Spaniard had in turn spent the last couple of weeks ramping up his recovery efforts, afforded a place on the bench for Los Blancos’ most recent fixtures.
But as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then Asencio’s official comeback looks set to be pushed back yet further over the weeks ahead.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Asencio is on the verge of needing surgery to repair the tibial injury in his right leg that has been bothering him since the beginning of the year.’
It is added that the recovery timeline from the operation would be ‘around two to three months’.
