La Liga giants Real Madrid were afforded some welcome positive news on the personnel front on Tuesday morning. This came upon Ibrahima Konaté returning to the training pitch for group activities.
Defender Konaté was for his part dealt an early setback in his Real Madrid career late last month.
After departing Spain’s capital to link up with the French national team for a round of Nations League fixtures, the former Liverpool man was revealed to have suffered a knee injury.
From here, Konaté was immediately sent back to base at Valdebebas, to begin treatment on the affected area under the watch of the Blancos medical staff.
And as alluded to above, the treatment in question has evidently since had precisely the desired effect…
Just two weeks on, the 27-year-old – fresh off a positive start to life in La Liga – has rejoined the rest of José Mourinho’s squad in group training on the grass.
Konaté, as a result, is expected to be cleared to play his part against Villarreal this weekend.
