Nacho Fernández, Real Madrid’s veteran defender, is still looking set to be leaving the club following tomorrow’s Champions League final.
One man who has his eyes on Nacho’s shirt number if/when he leaves is Eduardo Camavinga, who has put in a request to inherit the number when the 34-year-old is done with it.
That’s according to Relevo anyway, who report that this is something that has been discussed in the dressing room and has been pushed for by the player himself.
The 21-year-old Frenchman is seen as one of Real Madrid’s stars of the future, and handing him such an important shirt number could be seen as passing the baton on to the next generation of talent at the club.
In just over two years playing for Real Madrid he has already reached a second Champions League final, although this will be his first as a starter, having come off the bench in the 2022 edition as Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0.
He will hope to be a major part of Real Madrid’s 15th Champions League win, should Los Blancos emerge victorious on Saturday night.
