Real Madrid star returned to dressing room after Copa victory shouting ‘Viva Athletic Bilbao’

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid made use of the opportunity to rub salt in the wounds of all associated with Real Sociedad on the back of the meeting between the two clubs on Wednesday.

Real Madrid, of course, are fresh off a hard-fought victory at Anoeta last night.

After making the trip to San Sebastian for the first leg of a Copa del Rey semi-final tie with the aforementioned Sociedad, a solitary strike on the part of Endrick proved enough to secure an advantage to take back to Spain’s capital.

The matchup proved an at-times tense one, with the home crowd having taken firm aim at a number of members of Carlo Ancelotti’s Blancos squad over the 90 minutes.

Most heavily targeted was Raúl Asencio, who was subjected to disgusting ‘die’ chants during the first-half.

Post-match, one of Asencio’s defensive partners was therefore keen to snipe back at Real Sociedad.

This came by way of cheers for La Real’s most bitter rivals, Athletic Club.

As per a report from Real Madrid insider Miguel Ángel Díaz of Cope, upon making his way back into the visitors’ dressing room at Anoeta, Antonio Rüdiger was heard shouting:

“Long live Athletic Bilbao!!”
