Real Madrid star rejected a ‘very attractive’ offer from Manchester City over the summer

A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid rebuffed the advances of Premier League champions Manchester City over the summer.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Rodrygo as the player in question.

Frontman Rodrygo, for his part, has of course spent recent weeks rediscovering his brilliant best in Spain’s capital.

After a somewhat hit-and-miss opening to the campaign, the Brazilian international has racked up three goals and two assists in his last three appearances across all competitions.

As much has proven altogether important for a player who was beginning to lose prominence behind the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé.

And yet, as alluded to above, had things played out a little differently over the summer, Rodrygo could well have been conjuring up such excellence in the colours of another of the continent’s top clubs.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘He turned down a very attractive offer from Manchester City’ over the summer.

This decision came with Rodrygo’s sole goal remaining to succeed in the colours of Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti and co, meanwhile, never opened to a sale, either.
